Cass House Inn

Heading in from a beach walk
Last night, I arrived home from a lovely weekend spent with my husband in the sleepy beach town of Cayucos.  Sunday was his birthday, and we had dinner reservations at the Cass House Inn, so I surprised him with a night there as well.  It was one of the most relaxed, romantic trips I've had in a long time.  Staying in one of the Cass House guest rooms is like staying in someone's home, someone with incredibly good taste in antique furniture and Victorian moldings.  The restaurant is also the place to be for San Luis Obispo-area foodies. They specialize in serving a seasonal prix-fixe menu of locally grown, organic meals paired with wine, one of the best parts of this weekend away.  We started the trip with wine tasting in Paso Robles and finished with a morning walk on the beach made better by cookies from Cass House neighbor, the Brown Butter Cookie Company.  I can't wait until we do it again!
